Happy New Year! What epics are you taking on this new year?
This year has come and gone at a rapid pace. 2016 has been a year of epic adventures, promotions, a new city, travelling and has seen some fantastic new people come into my life. All in… this year has been pretty awesome!
2016 started with me focusing on my career, training and with the aim of moving forward to bigger things by the end of the year. I am very happy to say that I succeeded!
Running in an ultra wonderland!
This year has been a further venture into running and adventure that has seen me go on some epic adventure and further my love of the outdoors, especially mountains!
It’s been a year now since I started my job as Assistant Manager at Run4It. Leaving a mental health nursing career behind and embarking on a new journey in the running industry. 1 year on I have now left my assistant manager position and have taken a step up on the run4it ladder.
I have now become Manager of my own shop in Glasgow Giffnock, taking on a new city, new people. I have been enjoying this new challenge and look forward to getting more involved in the Glasgow running scene over the next year. Feel free to pop in and say hi!
Running, races and adventures
This year has been all about getting out there, pushing my limits further and falling deeper in love with the outdoors and the mountains. Here are a selection of photos from my favourite moments of this year and some great adventures!!
So what does 2017 hold?
Things can only get bigger! In 2017, I have set myself a very hard challenge, but one I am confident I can achieve. I have entered The North Face Ultramarathon through the Dolomite mountains in Italy. The 120km course has a 30hour time limit, massive climb and some stunning scenery, bring it on!
I have also signed myself up for the Salomon Ring of Steall sky race which is a beautiful running route over the Munros surrounding the river Steall. I aim to bag a lot more Munro’s this year too, I really love my sky running adventures this year and I want to get more elevation in my legs. I have made a promise to myself not to waste my days off work and to spend that time out having an adventure. After all… that is what is most important to me!
Oh Yes! I bought a beautiful long wheelbase Toyota Hiace, my new pride and joy. This mountain mobile once kitted out with a bed, cooker etc. Will be my mobile Running machine, and my portable home for adventures and races!
Keep an eye out for more adventures this year! 🙂
