Earlier this year, Rosie and I visited Thailand for an adventure. The trip took us to pristine beaches, beautiful islands, incredible city’s, an amazing elephant sanctuary and in contact with some truly inspirational people. A blog post on Thailand itself and the elephant sanctuary is still to come.
While we were there we managed to fit in a few runs. It was far too hot and humid during the day so we saved our runs until early morning or evening, which still turned out to be ridiculously hot, but worth it!
Here is our run around the “old city” of Chiang Mai. Our first run in Thailand! A very tough, sweaty few miles.
Our second run took place in the south of Thailand on the island of Phuket, at Patong Beach. This area was much busier and far more “touristy” area of Thailand with many of its visitors wearing tops reading “Bad boys go to Patong”. Our run, however, was along the amazing coastline following the beach and then the road up the hill out of Patong. A beautiful sunset run with a beautiful lady!
Note to anybody travelling to Thailand and intending to run whilst there: take water/an electrolyte out with you! You sweat SO much due to the humidity and heat and dehydration is an easy (and dangerous) state to fall into!
Thank you for reading!
